RESOLUTION NO. 698 20
RESOLUTION CREATING TWO (2) NEW CULTURAL TECHNICIAN
POSITIONS FOR THE HAWAII COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PARKS &
RECREATION
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks & Recreation is requesting to add one (1)
full-time Cultural Technician position and one (1) half-time Cultural Technician position;
and
WHEREAS, the creation of these positions is needed to monitor the Waipi`o
Valley Lookout; and
WHEREAS, the two (2) Cultural Technicians will monitor vehicles accessing the
road and provide natural, cultural, and historical interpretive information of Waipi`o
Valley to enrich those visiting the area; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter states that
the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...for which appropriations have been
made by the council..."; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that one
(1) full-time Cultural Technician and one (1) half-time Cultural Technician position be
created in the Hawaii County Department of Parks & Recreation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the
Office of the Mayor and the Departments of Finance, Human Resources, and Parks &
Recreation.
