Hunt <br />Deputy Director <br />The County of Hawaii has been awarded $50,000 in federally derived funds from the <br />Department of the Attorney General, Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division. These <br />funds will be used to upgrade infrastructure at various Police stations and to purchase equipment <br />to prevent, prepare for and respond to COVID-19. <br />Enclosed is a resolution to enter into an agreement to accept these funds. Also enclosed is a bill <br />for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this $50,000 grant. The <br />Hawaii Police Department is requesting that this resolution and bill be waived from Finance <br />Committee and be placed on the August 19, 2020 Council agenda to expedite the receipt of these <br />funds.
