Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 698-20, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 698-20, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna Sako, via Communication No. 1017
dated July 17, 2020, creates two new Cultural Technician positions for the Department of Parks and
Recreation.
This resolution establishes one full-time and one half-time position to provide natural, cultural, and
historical interpretive information of Waipi`o Valley and monitor vehicles accessing the road.
Finance Director Deanna Sako addressed Your Committee sharing that these positions have been
budgeted as temporary contracted positions for the past five years, and pursuant to the Department of
Human Resources said positions need to be permanently created at this time. She also noted that these
positions have already been recipients of benefits, and that this shall have no affect on the County's
budget going forward.
A motion to move Resolution No. 698-20 to Council with a positive recommendation was made by
Council Member Eoff, and seconded by Council Member Villegas.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 698-20, and
recommends its adoption.
