This bill will encourage forest preservation and reforestation by property
owners, and will encourage participation.
Healthy forests are vital. They grow food, slow climate change, provide
habitat for native plants and animals and support Hawaiian culture.
It can be done!
Us two senior citizens own a 23 acre parcel in upper Qla'a currently under a
forest dedication. Since 2016 we have eradicated the himalayan berry, fenced
out the ungulates and planted over 3,000 native plants and ferns. The 'aina is
utterly transformed.
