supports the nomination of Mr. Scott Collins to the aai'i county Fire commission.
Mr. Collins graduated from the Kamehameha Schools Kapalama and earned a bachelor's
degree in sociology and master's degree in Human resource Management from the
University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Juris Doctorate from UH Manoa William S.
Richardson school of Law. Mr. Collins began his career at HGEA in 2014 as a Union
Agent and quickly ascended to a management role in our organization. He currently
serves as our Hawaii Island Division chief where he is responsible for the fiscal operations
including projecting and preparing the division budget, field services and contract
administration including grievances and arbitration, legislative and political action
programs, training and education of members and stewards, and recreational programs
available to all members. He supervises the division's staff in the day-to-day operations,
serves as the spokesperson and media liaison for the Big Island, and manages our office
building.
From budgeting to hiring to contract enforcement to building management, it is clear that
Mr. Collins wears many hats and it is this specific skill set that ensures he will be a
knowledgeable asset to the Fire commission. Above all else, I am confident that Mr.
Collins will bring the same passion and dedication to the Fire Commission as he does to
HGEA.
It is our pleasure to offer our unequivocal support for the nomination of Scott Collins to the
Fire commission.
