..... •--�SY OF N, ' .w• • 41,e STATE OF HAWAII COUNTY OF HAWAII : •: � ;# : ST T el HF'';' RESOLUTION NO. 718 20 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE KONA TASK FORCE ON FEEDING THE HUNGRY TO DISTRIBUTE FRESH PRODUCE IN KONA TO THOSE IN NEED DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. WHEREAS, the Kona Task Force on Feeding the Hungry is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides food to the low income and homeless population of Hawai`i County; and WHEREAS, the COVID-19 pandemic is causing a severe hardship on families in Kona, including the ability for homeless and able-bodied adults to provide meals for children and kupuna; and WHEREAS, the Kona Task Force on Feeding the Hungry is coordinating efforts in Kona to provide free bags of fresh produce to those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic; and WHEREAS, the Kona Task Force on Feeding the Hungry is requesting funds to help pay for fresh produce and supplies needed for the preparation and distribution of fresh produce in Kona; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports alcohol- and drug-free programs and activities that promote the betterment of the community during the COVID-19 pandemic; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Kona Task Force on Feeding the Hungry to distribute fresh produce in Kona to those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
