• <br /> �``� STATE OF HAWAII <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •is����•�� � I.� <br /> -may <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 719 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE KONA TASK <br /> FORCE ON FEEDING THE HUNGRY TO PROVIDE FRESH PRODUCE IN KONA TO <br /> THOSE IN NEED DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. <br /> WHEREAS, the Kona Task Force on Feeding the Hungry is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization with an established community-based program designed to feed the growing <br /> number of our in-need population; and <br /> WHEREAS, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is causing severe hardship on families in <br /> Kona, including the ability to provide meals for themselves, their children, and kupuna; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kona Task Force on Feeding the Hungry is coordinating efforts in Kona <br /> to provide free bags of fresh produce to those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kona Task Force on Feeding the Hungry has requested financial <br /> assistance to help pay for fresh produce and supplies that is needed for the preparation and <br /> distribution of fresh produce to the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that <br /> conduct alcohol- and drug-free events and activities that are beneficial to the community's health <br /> and well-being; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Kona Task Force on Feeding the Hungry for expenses <br /> associated with providing fresh produce in Kona to those in need during the COVID-19 <br /> pandemic. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
