Subject: I oppose factory built housing. Council meeting July 22nd. Bill 179
As a career construction worker with an AA degree and UC Berkeley BS degree I oppose how factory built housing
will take away vital job opportunities in Hawaii. Working in the construction trades is one of the few opportunities to
hawaii andanythreat to these jobs will onlyhurt our whole communityin the run.

Also to allow any change to existing building codes to make factory built housing exempt from standards all other
builders must follow is unethical:
Taking away any skilled trade jobs from Hawaii residence and putting that money in the hands of out of state or
possible out of country corporations poses a disastrous threat to Hawaii's future working middle class the heart of any
community.
Please remove any allowances and exceptions to use factory built housing in Hawaii from Bill 179.
