You are jamming a major rule change affecting all development on the island without proper community input. The building department has made sudden changes before without proper community input. The result was significant loss of time (making changes and in some cases complete redesign),wasted money, confusion (from professionals as well as county employees) and backlogs due to longer permit processing times and costly appeals. Developers, builders, designers and homeowners need more time to understand the changes been made. Please consider doing this the right way.Slow and easy. One section at a time. With appropriate phase in times and allowances for training and planning. Development is time consuming and expensive as is.Some projects take years if not decades to be designed.Changing rules overnight is not the way to go. Thank you for your consideration.
