Greg Dencker Bill 179 as drafted provides the establishment of a framework that will align all of the Secretary Kehaulani Stamm construction codes and creates the administrative processes to promote efficiency and consistency.One example of this is the proposed creation of a single permit system that Treasurer would replace the current multi-permit process that has contributed to the challenges of Mary Begier expediting sorely needed residential growth. Immediate Past President The economic recovery of our community and the construction of much needed affordable Larkin Correia housing are two critical reasons for ensuring our government policies and regulations- including our building codes-are current,applicable, reasonable, and enforceable.The passage of Bill 179 is the first of many steps to be taken to address the critical needs for our community and to improve government efficiency. Directors Kevin Aoki We understand that some sectors of the construction industry are concerned about the inclusion of Appendix L, regarding Factory Built Housing(FBH). However,we have faith that Jade Halama the parties involved have the integrity to see their way through,for the good of the community. Gloria Kobayashi We thank the Council, Council Staff, Department of Public Works, and all those who have Sunita Przewlocki been involved in the work to bring Bill 179 forward, as we believe this will help to address Meg Saunders our housing affordability crisis and put our community on the road to recovery.
