Aloha kakou Hawaii Island County Council,
My name is Robert Ward. I am a farmer, Who understands the delicate interconnected web of life.
am writing you as a past 40 year resident of Maui County recently having moved to Hawaii island, residing on
kohanaiki 'ahupuaa, district of kona.
want to add my voice to the many who support this resolution. I understand the need to provide global
connectivity and allow previously unserved areas of the world access to internet. But we must not allow this to
happen without taking all proper and necessary precautions. More testing is clearly.needed. There are more than
101000 peer reviewed, credible scientific studies that have already been done that clearly show grave and dangerous
warning signs about the health of this technology to the environment- it's people it's animals and it's plants. There is
too much at stake to allow corporate for-profit motives to drive the pace of something that has the potential to
negatively affect the The very delicate and real electro -magnetic field of the planet that sustains the delicate
balance of life on our precious planet earth.
Hawaii is unique, both geographically environmentally and geopolitically. Our delicate ecosystem demands the
utmost of our stewardship in alignment with that which is Pono to secure the balance for the lives of its people, its
keiki- now and in the generations that come. We have a grave ethical and moral responsibility at this time to stand
up for what is right, and what is righteous. A single voice can make a significant impact. When our voices join
together in a unified message of solidarity for our mother nature, we can make a stand that will impact not only one
island, or one island chain but the entire global family and infrastructure.
I urge you on the county council to use the power of your voices now to represent the greater good in this all -too -
serious issue.
