I CALL UPON ALL TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMPANIES AND PUBLIC UTILITIES OPERATING IN HAWAII COUNTY TO
CEASE THE BUILDOUT OF 5G WIRELESS INFRASTRUCTURE UNTIL SUCH TECHNOLOGIES HAVE BEEN PROVEN
THROUGH INDEPENDENT RESEARCH AND TESTING TO BE SAFE TO HUMAN HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT.
Why?
I know that there are studies that alert men to not carry their phones in their pockets because this might cause prostate
cancer. Same for woman, who should not stick their phone in their bra to not risk breast cancer...
There is studies that people might suffer from sleeping disorders who live near cell phone towers.
And the list of negative side effects goes on.
From a personal perspective:
I am already sensitive to 3g and 4g frequency. I notice that my ear is hot and buzzing and that I get headaches if I talk
too long on my cell phone ... this doesn't happen when I talk for the same amount of time on a 'regular' wired phone.
Now, when I talk on mobile I put in on speaker ...and the hand I hold the device with gets hot and buzzy. Because of
all this I limit my exposure to my phone.
Now after decades of using 3g and 4g technology, the long term negative side effects become known.
I request that proper testing be done before the buildout of 5g infrastructure continues.
Just to make clear, I am not against such technologies. However, I support appropriate use. For example, first
applying this technology in industrial areas (or select testing areas) and not in residential areas. Once there is more
insight about potential negative side effects, ways how to mitigate them can be found before further deployment.
In the light of the current pandemic, I believe we need to focus on what supports the people's health, what supports
strengthening their immune system. I am very concerned that the further deployment of the 5g infrastructure will take
a toll on the people's health and immune system.
