From: Olivia Pasciuta' Sent: Monday, August 31, 2020 3:48 PM To: Council Testimony Subject: Lako Street Extention TMK: 3rd Div. 7-7-04 N. Kona HI Aloha Gentlemen, I speak humbly for my mother and na kupuna of our`ohana. My name is Olivia (Kong) Pasciuta. I am a native Hawaiian, born during the time Hawaii was still a territory of the U.S.A. My mother, Lily N. (Ha'anio) Kong, and I were born and raised in Kona. My mother was a teacher of Hawaiian culture; to anyone who would ask. She has freely shared her knowledge and Aloha with students and staff of Kamehameha Schools and Development. She was an active member of a kupuna group, who looked out for the iwi of our I<upuna. I am against the Lako Street Extension. I believe the extension would create more traffic for that area, rather than relieve traffic. also believe burial sites and artifacts would be forever destroyed. I do not see any long term benefit to the public that justifies the destruction of Hawaiian history and it's artifacts. Sincerely, Olivia Pasciuta Holualoa, Kona x.t Sent from my Wad r Comm.
