RE: Testimony on Bill 179 SUPPORT
We support Bill 179 as written, because it will increase the options, production and speed of the permitting process for
housing for all families, but especially for low-income families needing affordable housing in our community.
We would not support any amendments that substantially change the bill as the bill is in final reading where usually only
grammatical and wording issues are made. If there are substantive changes that would make it too unwieldy to add tiny
houses and factory built houses to our much needed low income housing, the language should not be added.
Mahalo for all the work that the council and county put into improving the county building code so that adding much needed
housing stock creation can move ahead in a more timely manner.
