692-20 so that the i`i leads by example and begins

Plan 2040 where duty and accountability ill support the communities

included in the General Plan 2040. We believe Resolution No. 692-20
will

ill be the answer to our continuous calls for inclusion.
We say mahalo in advance to the County of Hawai'i for realizing this
initiative to protect our beloved island of Hawaii through the values o
`Aina Aloha, `®pu Ali`i, `Imi `Oi Kelakela and o`oipa as so eloquently
described in this important initiative. These values are the guiding force
and foundation of Resolution No. 692-20 and, therefore, projects within
the County that are not in alignment with these values must be
scrutinized and evaluated by the County.
Perhaps some may question the motivation behind Resolution No. 69 -
20 being introduced at this time, just 4 days away from the 2020 primary
election. For us, anytime our County resolves to lead the state b
example to effect lasting structural change toward a stronger and more
sustainable Hawaii through the `Aina Aloha Economic Futures inititive
is a good time.
