RESOLUTION NO. 740 20
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF SINGLE-USE MEDICAL MASKS TO THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY
WHEREAS, the University of California at San Francisco is donating approximately
one million single-use medical masks to the County of Hawaii Civil Defense Agency; and
WHEREAS, the medical masks, valued at approximately $1.86 each, will be provided
to the County in weekly shipments of approximately 70,000 units; and
WHEREAS, the medical masks, will be distributed to the public at COVID-19 testing
sites and other venues; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Civil Defense Agency recommends the acceptance of this donation;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, , in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of
Hawaii, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Mr. Jake Limbert, USCF Health, 777 Mariposa Street, San Francisco,
CA 94107, acknowledging this generous donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Civil Defense Agency, the Department of Finance and the Office of the
Mayor.
