i= <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII �'''-\��_•- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ; <br /> 1TE•Of•Mj„'l <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 744 20, <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE PROSECUTING <br /> ATTORNEY TO AWARD FUNDS TO CHILD AND FAMILY SUPPORT <br /> SERVICES <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii <br /> County Code (2005 Edition as amended) states, Grant awards in excess of$25,000 <br /> to nonprofit organizations shall specifically identify the organization receiving the <br /> grant funds and the purpose for which the grant funds shall be used in an ordinance <br /> or resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-136(5) of the Hawaii County <br /> Code states, "nonprofit organization" means an organization organized for other than <br /> profit-making purposes and which has a current 501(c)3 tax-exemption from the <br /> Internal Revenue Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney has received federal funds <br /> through a Victim of Crime Act (VOCA) grant; and <br /> WHEREAS, Child and Family Support Services, which qualifies as a nonprofit <br /> organization as defined above, will provide shelter and support services to domestic <br /> violence victims; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney wishes to provide $40,000 <br /> of these federal funds to Child and Family Support Services; now, therefore <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in <br /> accordance with Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii County <br />
