HKI Kawili LLC proposes to build 91 affordable housing
units and designate one as a manager's residence.
The Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) has worked with HKI Kawili
LLC to implement HRS Section 201H-38, in conjunction with HRS Section 46-15.1. This law
allows the County of Hawaii to facilitate the development of affordable housing by exempting
eligible developments from certain code requirements not related to health and safety.
HKI Kawili LLC seeks certain exemptions from code requirements and conditions of Ordinance
No. 07-26. These proposed exemptions, which have been reviewed by all County as well as
affected State agencies, would promote the goals contained in HRS Section 20111-38 and
Chapter 11 of the Hawai `i County Code.
4 Res. -I 33- -,-)"o
8352dncc
Comm.
