N • <br /> w <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII '= •; STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ,TE Of NF,� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 748 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOSPICE OF HILO TO <br /> CREATE A POHAI MALAMA CARE CENTER BROCHURE. <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo (doing business as Hawai`i Care Choices) is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization that provides medical, social, and spiritual services for terminally ill <br /> patients at end of life, and offers support, respite, and bereavement care to their families and <br /> caregivers; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo provides on-site care services at its inpatient facility, Pohai <br /> Malama Care Center; and <br /> WHEREAS, during the pandemic, Hospice of Hilo has noticed an increase in inquiries <br /> from families requesting information about its inpatient hospice services; and <br /> WHEREAS, in order to raise awareness and educate the public, Hospice of Hilo is <br /> creating a Pohai Malama Care Center Brochure; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo is requesting funding assistance to cover graphic design <br /> expenses; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of Aging supports organizations that provide services for the <br /> community and those in need of end-of-life care; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Office of Aging to <br /> provide a grant to Hospice of Hilo (doing business as Hawai`i Care Choices) to create a Pohai <br /> Malama Care Center Brochure. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
