Sako <br />Director <br />Steven A. Hunt <br />Deputy Director <br />In the current Budget Ordinance 2045, $200,000 is appropriated in the Police Department's HCPD <br />Roadblock Program account. Additional federally -derived funds in the amount of $159,841.20 are <br />being provided by the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation to .fund operations focused <br />on reducing the number of drivers operating vehicles 'while impaired. <br />Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these <br />additional funds into the Hawaii County Police's HCPD Roadblock Program account, bringing the <br />total appropriation to $359,841.20. <br />The Police Department requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed <br />on the October 21, 2020 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
