Additional federally -derived funds in the amount of <br />$241,564.86 are being provided by the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation to fund <br />training and equipment for traffic accident investigations. <br />Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these <br />additional funds into the Hawaii County Police's HCPD Traffic Investigation Program account,, <br />bringing the total appropriation to $ 3 51, 5 64.8 6. <br />The Police Department requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed <br />on the October 21, 2020 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
