Subject HSAC Executive Committee Meeting -August 27, L999
The following highlights of [he HSAC Executive Committee meeting of August 27, 1999 are hereby submitted.
The Secretary's Minutes of the Executive Committee of July 9, 1999 were deferred [o the next meeting.
Treasurer reports for the months of June 1999 and July 1999 were approved (Attached for information).
Under WIR/NACo Reports, it was first reported that Dallas County Commissioner Ken Mayfield was elected as NACo
Second Vice President at the NACo Annual Meeting. Next, members were notified that NACo President Vernon Gray
will be attending our HSAC Mid-year Conference on Kauai on December 2, 1999.
The Executive Committee also discussed [he possibility of giving away a free trip to Hawaii a[ the WIR in Boise as an
incentive to come [o Hawaii. President Mansho will approach several of the mainland carriers on this matter.
Under New Business, the Executive Committee discussed both [he yeaz 2000 HSAC Legislative Program Policy
Statement and the formulation of proposals for the 2000 HSAC Legislative Package and deferred each item pending
action by the several counties.
The next meeting of the HSAC Executive Committee is scheduled for 10 am, September 24, 1999 at Honolulu Hale. A
workshop on the Legislative Package is being planned and will follow the HSAC Executive Committee Meeting at
1:30 p.m. Mayors, and [he members of each County Council will be invited to participate in this workshop.
