-'�ZY os k,'. <br /> .'OVA, �_• <br /> ' '''�`\�'/' STATE OF HAWAII <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII : is �=-��-�!� _• <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 763 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAMAKUA YOUTH <br /> FOUNDATION, INC., FOR ITS COMMUNITY FOOD PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hamakua Youth Foundation, Inc., (HYF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, <br /> grassroots organization dedicated to creating nurturing, stimulating, and enjoyable summer and <br /> after-school programs for youth of the Hamakua district; and <br /> WHEREAS, HYF is serving as one of Vibrant Hawai`i`s food hubs to provide hot meals <br /> and Kokua food bags in Honoka`a for the elderly and families in need during the COVID-19 <br /> pandemic; and <br /> WHEREAS, HYF has requested financial assistance to purchase food, paper goods, and <br /> other related cooking supplies that are needed for the preparation and distribution of heathy <br /> meals, produce, and groceries to the Honoka`a community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports enhancing the <br /> standard of living and the development of a local economy that is diverse, stable, and in balance <br /> with Hawai`i's ecology, community character, and cultural heritage; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to the Hamakua Youth Foundation, Inc., for <br /> expenses associated with its community food program to help those in need during the <br /> COVID-19 pandemic. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
