-'MtY of M,' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII + A =;\:Av i STATE OF HAWAII <br /> • <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 771 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE PURCHASE OF MINI FOOT PEDDLERS <br /> FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION'S NUTRITION SITES AND <br /> SENIOR CENTERS IN COUNCIL DISTRICT 1. <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Elderly Activities Division, has <br /> identified the need for funds to purchase mini foot peddlers for its nutrition sites and senior <br /> centers in Council District 1; and <br /> WHEREAS, the mini foot peddlers will provide a means of indoor exercise for the <br /> Hamakua seniors to keep them engaged in health and wellness activities during the COVID-19 <br /> pandemic; and <br /> WHEREAS, providing physical activities and exercise to the elderly community <br /> improves their health and quality of life, which has proven helpful in preventing dementia and <br /> other chronic diseases; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funding assistance to <br /> purchase mini foot peddlers to improve the health and quality of life for the Hamakua seniors in <br /> Council District 1; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to purchase mini foot peddlers for its nutrition sites and senior centers in <br /> Council District 1. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
