RESOLUTION NO. 771 20
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE PURCHASE OF MINI FOOT PEDDLERS
FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION'S NUTRITION SITES AND
SENIOR CENTERS IN COUNCIL DISTRICT 1.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Elderly Activities Division, has
identified the need for funds to purchase mini foot peddlers for its nutrition sites and senior
centers in Council District 1; and
WHEREAS, the mini foot peddlers will provide a means of indoor exercise for the
Hamakua seniors to keep them engaged in health and wellness activities during the COVID-19
pandemic; and
WHEREAS, providing physical activities and exercise to the elderly community
improves their health and quality of life, which has proven helpful in preventing dementia and
other chronic diseases; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funding assistance to
purchase mini foot peddlers to improve the health and quality of life for the Hamakua seniors in
Council District 1; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation to purchase mini foot peddlers for its nutrition sites and senior centers in
Council District 1.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
