WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Recreation Division, provides a diversified recreation program that addresses the needs and interests of the respective communities in a safe environment with zero tolerance for illegal drugs and violence; and WHEREAS, the Laupahoehoe Civic Center, located next to the N. Hilo Police Station (Also known as the Laupahoehoe Police Station) in Council District 1 is heavily used by the community for recreational activities and public events; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation would like to improve its services to the community and is requesting funds to assist with electrical repairs and related supplies for the Laupahoehoe Civic Center in Council District 1; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to assist with electrical repairs and related supplies for the Laupahoehoe Civic Center in Council District 1. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $3,500 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC —Contingency Relief $3,500 CREDITED TO: 010.801.5801.33 Department of Parks and Recreation $3,500 Trans to Cap Proj Fund-G 341 Misc. Charges (Discretionary Projects-Council District 1, Laupahoehoe Civic Club—Electrical Repairs and Related Supplies 110.588.5589.32)
