RESOLUTION NO. 780 20
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO NO NA OPIO TO
PURCHASE EQUIPMENT FOR NA HOA 0 PUNA SOCCER'S NA HOA CUP.
WHEREAS,No Na Opio is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that strives to support the
children of East Hawai`i by offering opportunities to engage in physical, spiritual, and cognitive
development through participation in recreational and cultural practices; and
WHEREAS,No Na Opio is partnering with Na Hoa 0 Puna Soccer to host its Na Hoa
Cup, an island-wide annual soccer tournament for children ages 6 to 14, which will be held on
December 12-13, 2020 at Buddy Perry Soccer Fields in Kea'au, Hawai`i; and
WHEREAS,Na Hoa Cup is a drug-free and alcohol-free community event that
encourages healthy activities, well-being, teamwork, and leadership opportunities for children
while engaging adult volunteers as coaches and support staff; and
WHEREAS,No Na Opio is requesting funding to assist in purchasing new goals, nets,
and uniforms for the Na Hoa Cup; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports drug-free and alcohol-free
programs that enrich the lives of community members and enhance the well-being of Hawai`i
Island residents; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to No Na Opio to purchase equipment for Na Hoa 0 Puna
Soccer's Na Hoa Cup.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

CREDITED TO:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
