We, too, request an update on the following plan/project: Where is ilo`s Community Development Plan (CDP) in the Hawaii County General Plan (GP) 2040? It has been over a year since the draft GP 2040 was made available in August 2019 for public comment. We engaged and had meetings with the planning department and with this administration regarding our concerns pertaining to Hilo`s CDP. We were told that "Hilo does not have a CDP" and in order to develop a current Hilo CDP to replace the grossly outdated Hilo CDP of 1975, funding would need to be in the budget. We want to ensure the transition includes the funding necessaryvel a current it a included int e GP ® We were also assured repeatedly that an appendix of policies from the GP 2005 affecting Hilo would be included in the GP 2040 as a placeholder until a current Hilo CDP Is 1 cry a Fief® Ref.Date—,I0 7 2 developed and included in the GP 2040. We want to ensure the transition includes such an appendix as a placeholder until a currentit is developed and included in the GP 20404 For the record, attached is the planning department's Ebulletin "Six CDPs, One Island-"But there are 7 Community Development Plan boundaries (see attached Overview). Why is Hilo`s CCP being left out of the GP 2040? We urge this committee, and the full council, to ensure an update on the progress/status of the Hawal`i County General Plan 2040, and in particular ilo`s CDP,_i part of these transition plans and pending projects update. The Planning Department welcomed a new Planning Director, Michael Yee, in January 2017; the Long Range Planning Division initiated a Team approach to provide more staff support for the CDPs; the Action Committees were actively engaged in providing input into the General Plan Comprehensive Update process; and the CDP Teams focused on developing a consistent framework to increase efficiencies and facilitate CDP implementation.
