Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 777-20, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 777-20, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna Sako, via Communication No. 1150
dated October 28, 2020, authorizes the Office of the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the University
of Hawai`i.
Resolution No. 777-20 provides funds in the amount of$15,000 would be provided to the University of
Hawai`i for its Imiloa Outdoor Exhibits Enhancement and Learning Space project.
A motion to move Resolution No. 777-20 to Council with a positive recommendation was made by
Council Member Rebecca Villegas, and seconded by Council Member Karen Eoff.
Finance Director Deanna Sako addressed Your Committee on behalf of Research and Development.
She explained that any intergovernmental contracts require Council approval, and that Resolution
No. 777-20 is for a grant from the County of Hawai`i to Imiloa to conduct its learning opportunities
while addressing pandemic safety concerns.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 777-20, and
recommends its adoption.
