This appropriation reflects <br /> funding allocations received from the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations for <br /> the Program Year(PY) 2020. The bill sets up the proper accounts to receive and expend <br /> the WIOA funds. <br /> 3 <br /> 3 <br /> The Office of Housing and Community Development(OHCD) indicates that the funds <br /> will be utilized to assist adults and youth by providing services that will train individuals <br /> to increase employment, retention, earnings, skills, and literacy. This will improve the <br /> quality of the workforce, reducing welfare dependency and enhancing the productivity <br /> I <br /> and competitiveness of the local economy. <br /> The Office of Housing and Community Development is requesting that this bill be <br /> waived from Finance Committee and be placed on the December 23, 2020 Council <br /> agenda to expedite the receipt of these funds.
