A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF TRAINING AND MISCELLANEOUS SUPPLIES TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Hawai‘i Island K9 Association is donating training and miscellaneous supplies to the County of Hawai‘i Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the training and supplies, consisting of seven (7) trauma aid kits, seven (7) Narcan Nasal kits, and various other supplies (K9 toys, bones, training aids, etc.) valued at approximately
$2,000, will be used by the Police Department’s Canine Units; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, provides that the council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I, , in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, the County of Hawaiʻi, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Tammy Passmore, Board Chair, Hawai‘i Island K9 Association, P.O. Box 6667, Hilo, HI 96720,
acknowledging this generous donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Police Department, the Department of Finance, and the Office of the Mayor.
