RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF AN ELECTRIC WHEELCHAIR FROM MR. GREG MEYERS TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Mr. Greg Meyers is donating one (1) used electric wheelchair to the Hawai‘i Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the County of Hawai‘i Fire Department’s Emergency Medical Services Bureau; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawai‘i County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities,
or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai‘i Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a)
of the Hawai‘i County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai‘i accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Mr. Greg Meyers, 68-3502 Aepo Place, Waikoloa, HI 96738.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Fire Department, the Department of Finance, and the Office of the Mayor.
