Through out Culture and Arts Section the following types of support services were rendered: • Printing of brochures, programs, meeting agendas, mailouts and newsletters at the Machine Room. • Tents, stages, bleachers • Purchase orange construction netting for children's theater performances • Plants, display partitions • Clerical supplies • Hauled tree leaves away after windstorm • Classroom space for Big Island Dance Council • Waived fee for Slack Key Festival at Civic • Pay for the telephone in the elevator • Use of Puueo Kiln for ceramic class Building repair and renovations: • State funds for building renovations $85,000 • County funds for building renovations $114,811.34 • Elevator maintenance $21,115.55 If you have any other questions, please call me. Waltjen Culture & Arts Section RE: Support Services/Grants Below please find a list of supportive services that the Culture & Arts Section, Department of Parks & Recreation has provided to the East Hawaii Cultural Center and its chartered members at no charge. Provided tents, delivery, set-up and dismantling for the Hilo Community Players Opening evening programs at the East Hawaii Cultural Center. Provided use of stages for the Trash Show and Summer Children's Theater performances. Provided, delivered and picked-up bleachers for the Hilo Community Players pertormances in the Park. Purchased orange wire netting to block off Mamo Tented area for Children's Theater performances. Provided plants from the P & R Nursery. Allowed the Big Island Art Guild to use the Art Display partitions for their Haiti Gallery. Provided clerical supplies during a bad time, pens, paper, envelopes, pencils, binders. Hauled tree leaves away after windstorm. Waived fee for the Butler Building use for the Summer Chi4 dren's Theater workshop. Provide free use of a classroom at the Culture 8 Arts Section (Hilo Armory) for the Big Island Dance Council no space at the EHCC, cannot afford to pay. Waived fee for Slack Key Festival at Civic. Provided xeroxinglcopying for Slack Key Festival Booklet, 1500 copies, l0 pages, front and ' back printing. Provided copying for newsletter, currently 7 pages, front and back, 2000 copies, tH-monthly. In the past Newsletter was printed monthly, l 1X 17, 2-3 pages, 1000 copies. When there was shortage of paper, C 8~ A purchased (or printing. Provides copying for flyers, meetings, agendas, mahouts. Provided Trash Show copying of booklet, 6 pages, front and back, 500 copies total. Provides copying for Juried Art Show, Prospectuss, Young At Art program and gallery promotional flyers and announcements. Pays for the telephone in the elevator - C & A budget approximately $33.00 per month. Parks & Recreation pays for elevator Maintenance contract, approximately $3300.00 per year. Provided monetary reimbursements to the East Haweii Cultural Center and its chartered members for programs, supplies and expenses incurred through programs, workshops and performance implementation. Provided the use of the Puueo Kiln for the EHCC ceramics class.
