Dear Chair David and Members of the Hawai `i County Council:
It is my pleasure to submit for your confirmation the appointment of Elizabeth A. Strance as
Corporation Counsel for the County of Hawaii, pursuant to Section 6-5.2 of the Hawaii
County Charter. This appointment will take effect upon her confirmation.
Ms. Strance is a long-time practicing attorney who currently owns and operates Strance Law
& Mediation, LLLC, where she specializes in conflict management and real estate law. Prior
to her current role, she worked for a variety of private law firms and has spent 15 years of her
career as a judge in the Third Circuit Court of the State of Hawaii.
Ms. Strance will serve a term co -terminus with my tenure, which will end on December 2,
2024.
Because her appointment does not take effect until she is confirmed by the Council, I
respectfully request a waiver of this matter through committee so that it may be considered
by the full County Council on December 23, 2020.
