Rodenhurst as Director for the County of Hawaii Department of Public Works, pursuant to Section 6-2.2 of the Hawaii County Charter. This appointment was effective at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 7, 2020. Mr. Rodenhurst has worked in the private sector as a civil engineer at Bowers + Kubota Consulting since 2011, where he was responsible for overseeing multiple projects involving collaboration between contractors and various government agencies to implement necessary improvements to public roads, highways, and schools. In his role as a Project Engineer, Ikaika oversaw projects such as the Waipio Point Access Road Improvements Project and Boulevard Improvements Project on Oahu and emergency projects on the island of Hawaii, which included lava and hurricane road recovery. Mr. Rodenhurst will serve a term co -terminus with my tenure, which will end on December 2, 2024. Pursuant to Rule 5(6) (g) of the Rules of Procedures and Organization of the Council of the County of Hawaii, we respectfully request a waiver of nomination through committee so that it may be considered by the full County Council on December 23, 2020.
