HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 026 Draft 01 2020-2022 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF PUNALUʻU SWEET BREAD TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION WHEREAS, AIO is donating 4,000 loaves of Punalu‘u sweet bread to the County of Hawai‘i Department of Parks & Recreation; and WHEREAS, the sweet bread, valued at approximately $30,534, will be distributed to seniors through the Parks and Recreation, Elderly Activities Division’s programs island wide; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, provides that the council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I, , in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, the County of Hawaiʻi, accepts this donation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to AIO, Duane Kurisu, Owner, 1000 Bishop Street, Suite 202, Honolulu, HI 96813, acknowledging this generous donation. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Department of Parks & Recreation, the Department of Finance and the Office of the Mayor.
