I write in support of the Fast Hawaii Cultural Center.
It is with aloha and kokua that the Big Island Art Guild, Bunka No
Izumi, Kin Ryosho Academy, the Big Island Dance Council, the
Philllptne Women's Circle, asid the Hawaii Concert Society have
rnntrihntrt3 to developing the East Hawaii Cultural Center. It is with
laulirrla, the spirit of cooperation, that they have extended their
services to the community and beyond.
And, it is with aloha that I ask that the Cultural Center remain at its
present location. These organizations have kept community values
alive. It is evident In the foundatton theyt~e laid to preserve LIIe

I am writing in support of the East Hawaii Cultural Center. This organization
has played a major part in the planning and presentation of art education in
my elementary school classroom. As a Department of Education teacher of
second graders, I am mindful of tha Cultural Centers contribution in
preserving arts among our children. Each school year, we strive to work up
to the level of excellence as shown in the annual children's art exhibit,
"Young At Art" during the month of March. We work toward being worthy to
be chosen for the exhibit. Please don't take this away from us.
I ask for the continuation of the Center at its present location.
Very truly yours,
Donna Nooney

I would like to express my support of the East Haw i'i Cuftural Center. I
have lived on the Big Island for 20 years. For the pt 181/2 years I have
enjoyed many of the projects that the cultural cent~eelllir has had to offer. I know
that when I want to expo88 my children to the arts I can always go to the
East Hawaii Cultural Center. There have been Some excellent, excellent
art exhibits over the years and I believe the presen location has done
wonders for the presentation of the exhibits and ex osure for the artists.
The use of the old police station building and it's I atlon contribute to
preserving the downtown atmosphere that the cult ral center and Kalakaua
Park has to offer.
Please continue the East Hawaii Cultural Center in its present location.
