A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO OSMD HAWAI‘I FOUNDATION
TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS PADDLING PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, OSMD Hawai‘i Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that raises awareness of muscular dystrophy and helps individuals with disabilities gain access to the ocean for
recreation; and
WHEREAS, OSMD Hawai‘i Foundation seeks funding assistance for its paddling program to purchase a four-person canoe to take those with disabilities out on the ocean; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation provides and facilitates a wide array of services and programs that meet the needs of the Hawai‘i Island community and is supportive
of this initiative to provide recreational opportunities to those with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide
a grant to OSMD Hawai‘i Foundation to assist with expenses relating to its paddling program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
