Comm. 2098: KEAHOLE TO KAILUA DEVELOPMENT PLAN
(Bill 363) From Planning Commission Chairman Fred Fujimoto and
Planning Director Duane Kanuha, dated October 22, 1990,
informing after duly held public hearings, the Planning
Commission voted to recommend approval of the Keahole
to Kailua Development Plan with the revisions dated
May 22, 1990.
Transmits for the Council's consideration a bill
adopting the plan and requesting consideration be given
to: 1) Water availability for the planned development;
2) The location of the University campus; 3) Private
sector willingness to participate in infrastructure
financing; and 4) Potential traffic problems at the
Palani Road-Kuakini Highway intersection.
Further, informs the Commission requests that a night
hearing be held in Kona for the purpose of securing
additional public input.
