Re: Resolution for multi-year lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year, a
for a new multi-year lease agreement for a multifunction copy machine for the
Department of Public Works. The monthly cost will be approximately $158.00. The
lease for the current copier will be expiring in February 2021. j
The Department of Public Works requests that this resolution be waived from the Finance
Committee and be placed on the January 20, 2021 Council agenda in order to expedite
this process. If there are any questions,please do not hesitate to call Sharilynn Olivar of
the Department of Department of Public Works at 961-8463.

A. REQUEST:
To enter into a five-year lease agreement for a multifunction printer; copier, and digital imaging device to be
located at the Department of Public Works Building Division in Hila.
B. BAQKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The lease on the copier will expire in February 2021. It is the only machine in the Hila office and is vital to the
division's daily operations.
The Department approximates a monthly cast of$158 per month, which includes maintenance, replacement
pants and supplies.
We are requesting a waiver of the Finance Committee to procure a replacement as soon as possible.

Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter,timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
