Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Doug Espejo of Council District 1 to the Liquor Commission.
Mr. Espejo is a lifelong Hawai'i Island resident who is currently retired from a career in the retail
business, and who remains active in the local music scene.
Mr. Espejo is an energetic participant in our community and has served on numerous
commissions and committees including the Transportation Commission, Cost of Government
Commission, and County Employee of the Year Committee, as well as service with the Hawai'i,
Japanese and Filipino Chambers of Commerce. He is a former member of the Elks Club, and a
Rotarian for over thirty years. If confirmed, he will serve a 5-year term to end December 2025.
