Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Sidney Fuke of Council District 2 to the Liquor Control
Adjudication Board.
Mr. Fuke is a lifelong resident of Hawai'i Island and a Vietnam era veteran, who is currently self
employed as a Planning Consultant. Prior to his work in the private sector, he spent nearly fifteen
years in the County of Hawaii Planning Department, where he served as Deputy Planning
Director (1974-1976) and Planning Director (1977-1984).
Mr. Fuke is a respected member of the community involved in numerous organizations including
Hospice of Hilo, Hawai'i Health Care Systems, Easter Seals, JCCI, and Na Leo `O Hawaii. He
is a former member of the Liquor Commission and the Liquor Control Adjudication Board.
Mr. Fuke is a graduate of Hilo High, the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and received a
master's degree in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois. He is an active member of the
Democratic Party. If confirmed, Mr. Fuke will serve a 5 -year term to end December 2025.
