Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Lisa Anne Kamuela Meheula of Council District 8 to the Public
Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission.
Ms. Meheula is a lifelong Hawai'i Island resident who is currently the Mala Network
Coordinator for Kamehameha Schools and owner of Lau Nam -Interior-scaping. Her previous
endeavors include Program Coordinator for Aloha Kuamo`o `Aina and School Garden
Educator/Coordinator in various schools through the Kohala Center.
Ms. Meheula holds a Hawaiian Lifestyles Certificate from Hawaii Community College,
attended the First Nations Futures Program through Kamehameha Schools and Stanford
University and holds a School Learning Garden Teacher Certificate through the Kohala Center—
Ku `Aina Pa Program.
Ms. Meheula is a dedicated volunteer at the Amy Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden as a Kalo
Curator and Educational Specialist, and shares kalo educational activities at events throughout
Hawai'i Island. If confirmed, she will serve a 5-year term to end December 31, 2025.
