Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Michelle Galimba of Council District 5 to the Windward Planning
Commission.
Ms. Galimba, a resident of Hawai'i for 45 years, has been employed as a Rancher at Kuahiwi
Ranch since 1999, advocating for appropriate and responsible land use.
Ms. Galimba is a dedicated community member, currently active on the Big Island Resource
Conservation and Development Council, USDA Farm Service Agency Committee and USDA
Advisory Council. She previously held positions on the Ka`u CDP Steering Committe, the
Charter Commission and Hawaii State Board of Agriculture.
Ms. Galimba is a graduate of UC, Berkeley, where she was awarded a MA/Ph. D, and received
her undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon. If confirmed, she will serve a term to
end December 31, 2022.
