Aloha,
I am opposed to prohibiting foot traffic on the Waipio Road. I am a resident of Big Island. I walk down to the valley
often because I don't have a 4WD vehicle. I do not want to be prohibited from walking down to the valley.
I understand the amount of tourists walking down the road has increased tremendously in recent years and has
become a hazard for both the hikers and driver's on the road. Perhaps stopping the foot traffic only to our of state
visitors and allowing local residents continue to walk the road. Another idea is to require permits to walk the road
and limiting the number permits issued per day.
