hello members of the council.
I have been going to Waipio since I was 5 years old. My family hasn't always had a 4wd vehicle but we still enjoyed
walking down. Stopping pedestrians from walking down violates the shoreline access right, especially people
without a 4wd. Not everyone can afford a car but everyone enjoys the beach. Anyone who has actually been on the
road can tell you that pedestrians don't cause issues to motorists driving up and down. The biggest safety issue
concerning the waipio access road is inexperienced drivers who disregard the "yield to uphill traffic" rule.
bottom line is banning pedestrian access is immoral and not gonna fix the problem.
