Subject: County Resolution 14-20
On behalf of Hawaii Community College, I offer this letter of support to County Resolution 14-20, providing funding
to the Hawaii Rise Foundation in support of Hawaii Community College's Mobile Greenhouse Training Program.
The funds will be used to procure a new insulated, refrigerated shipping container with a commercial trailer necessary
for the College to enhance the education of agriculture and electronics technicians_ This program is specific to the
additional skills required in Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA)techniques and operations.
We extend our appreciation to Councilwoman Ashley Kiertkeiwitz for sponsoring this bill and it's funding. This
program would benefit Hawai'i Island and it's diverse communities. Thank you for the opportunity to provide
testimony for this resolution.
