Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Resolution No. 20-21, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 20-21, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, via Communication No. 19
dated December 4, 2020, changes the full-time equivalent status of an Aging and Disability Services
Specialist I position from a half-time position to become a full-time position.
This resolution requests to change the full-time equivalent status of an Aging and Disability Services
Specialist I position from two part-time positions to one full-time position to streamline efficient service
to the community and reduce insurance premium obligation costs.
A motion to move Resolution No. 20-21 to Council with a positive recommendation was made by
Council Member Heather L. Kimball, seconded by Council Member Susan L. K. Lee Loy.
Office of Aging Director Horace Farr was present to discuss the benefits of transitioning to one full-time
position and explained that the position is 100% grant funded. Council Member Aaron S. Y. Chung
inquired about the duration of the grant funding and any potential fiscal impacts to the County if the
funding were to lapse.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 20-21, and
recommends its adoption.
