Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Bill No. 9, reports as follows:
Bill No. 9, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, via Communication No. 24 dated
November 18, 2020, amends Ordinance No. 20-45, as amended, the Operating Budget for the
County of Hawaii for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2021.
This bill appropriates revenues in the following Federal—Foster Youth to Independence
Initiative Voucher accounts: Voucher($175,000) and Administration($25,000); and
appropriates the same to the following Foster Youth to Independence Initiative Voucher
accounts: Voucher($175,000) and Administration($25,000). Funds would be used to provide
housing assistance to young adults at risk of experiencing homelessness.
There was no discussion.
Pursuant to Hawaii County Charter Section 10-8,the Council may amend the operating budget
at any time during the fiscal year by ordinance up to the amount of available revenues.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 9, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
