Subject: In support of Zendo Kern for Planning Director
To whom it may concern,
Our county needs a planning director that knows the laws and follows them for planning and development. Someone
that can clarify and make guidelines that have clear rules for businesses and persons alike. For too long it has been
wishy washy, depending on who you get at the counter if you are able to permit something or not. You make the
changes the county wants and still cannot move forward. I believe Zendo Dern knows the county requirements well
and will do an excellent job representing our island as the planning director. We need safe, sustainable, development.
We cannot bulldoze the island and develop everything but we need to make way for responsible development and
have the guidelines be clear to level the playing field. He is not one of the good old boys, he has rocked the boat and
that is another reason I think he is the best choice for planning director.
